NAIROBI — May 10, 2026 — Through Share’s open-access model, ISPs operating on Share’s infrastructure are offering internet plans reaching 1 Gbps to thousands of households and businesses across Kenya. Plans that, for most of these networks, were never on the table before.
The reason is straightforward. Independent ISPs have historically been constrained not by ambition, but by how bandwidth is sold. Committing to capacity upfront meant a network’s product ceiling was set by what it can afford to pre-purchase, not by the demand of its customers. For most small and mid-size providers, that gap never closes.
Share removes it completely. As a neutral infrastructure provider, Share gives networks access to a rich ecosystem of fiber operators, hyperscalers, and subsea cable routes - without upfront capacity costs. Networks grow into their infrastructure as their subscriber base grows.
The result is that providers on Share’s network are now offering plans up to 100x faster than what they could responsibly list before, which directly impacts the internet experience for millions across the region.
A household that was previously offered 10 Mbps from their local provider can now be on a 1 Gbps plan: same network, same operator, better internet experience.
